Privacy Policy
Maldives Live Cams (cams.wildmaldives.com) is a project by the Wild Maldives team. This page explains what data is processed when you visit the site.
What the site doesn't do
The site doesn't require an account, doesn't run any contact forms, and doesn't store visitors' names, addresses, or payment details on its own servers.
Browser local storage
The site fetches the current list of live cameras on every page load. If that request fails (for example, if you or the camera server are briefly offline), the site falls back to the last successfully fetched list, kept in your browser's localStorage for up to 7 days. This is a functional feature for resilience, not tracking — the stored data is just camera names and links, nothing personal.
Google Fonts
Page fonts (Fraunces, IBM Plex Sans, IBM Plex Mono) are loaded from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com). When these fonts load, your browser contacts Google's servers directly, and Google receives your IP address and browser data for that request, under Google's own privacy policy.
YouTube video
Camera streams are embedded via YouTube (a Google service) through the youtube-nocookie.com player, and only load after you click "Watch" on a camera card — nothing autoplays when the page opens. Once the player loads, YouTube/Google may set its own cookies and process your IP address and viewing data under Google's privacy policy.
Google AdSense advertising
The site intends to use Google AdSense for advertising. As of this page's publication, no ad units are live yet. Once the AdSense account is approved and ad units are enabled, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads based on visits to this and other sites. You can manage ad personalization in your Google Ad Settings.
For visitors from the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, a consent mechanism (CMP) compliant with Google's EU user consent policy will be enabled before any personalized advertising is shown — until then, no personalized ads will be served to those visitors.
The ads.txt file lists companies authorized to sell advertising space on this site; it does not itself set cookies or collect data.
Server logs
Like any web server, the site's hosting keeps standard technical request logs (IP address, request time, User-Agent) for operations and security. These logs aren't used to profile visitors.
Children
The site isn't directed at children under 16 and doesn't knowingly collect data about them.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page whenever the set of connected services changes, in particular once AdSense ads go live.
